Welcome

Troop 463 -- Join Us!

Troop 463 has served the communities surrounding Garrett Park, Maryland for over 50 years. We meet on Mondays from 7:30pm-9pm during the school year at Holy Cross Church on Strathmore Avenue. Our goal is to deliver a hands-on experience of leadership training through a program that combines high adventure opportunities and scout skills with a deep respect for community, country, and the environment. Troop 463 is a safe environment where every member is valued and welcome to participate.
We are an active troop that loves to get outdoors.  A highlight of 2022 was our backpacking trip to the Philmont Scout Ranch in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. In recent years, we have also camped at Little Bennett Regional Park here in Montgomery County, where we enjoy participating in the Klondike Derby, at Calvert Cliffs on the Chesapeake Bay, and at Gettsyburg, where we hiked the historic battlefield. We have gone backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and we have also taken the train to Point of Rocks and then hiked and camped along the C & O Canal. We have participated in the Mountain Man Camporee and spent memorable weeks camping and earning Merit Badges at the Heritage Reservation in Western Pennsylvania.
Learn more about the troop by contacting our Scoutmaster Kevin Driscoll at kjdarch@aol.com or our Charter Organization Representative Barbara Thawley at thawb@aol.com.
